Sprint Cup

What's new for betr Darwin Triple Crown in 2025: Introducing the Sprint Cup and new Super 440 format.

A new championship within a championship will be introduced in 2025.

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will see one of the biggest shakeups the category has ever introduced.

Supercars has refined its racing formats in 2025 and, for the first time, introduces a Finals Series to determine the Repco Supercars Champion.

A three-part season

  • Sprint Cup: Rounds 1-8, 25 races
  • Enduro Cup: Rounds 9-10, 2 races
  • Finals: Rounds 11-13, 7 races

What is the Sprint Cup?

The Sprint Cup is a new trophy which will be awarded to the top-performing driver over the first eight rounds, with that driver gaining automatic entry into the Finals.

A driver will be formally recognised with the Sprint Cup, but it isn't the overall championship trophy. Rather, it is effectively similar to the minor premiership in NRL or AFL, with the winner acknowledged for their efforts in the regular season, and given an advantage heading into the Finals.

What is the new racing format for the Darwin Round?

The betr Darwin Triple Crown round at Hidden Valley Raceway will be a new Super 440 format.

The new Super 440 format will feature dual 120km races on Saturday and a 200km refuelling race on Sunday.

This same Super 440 format will be used at Taupō, Tasmania, Perth, Darwin, and Ipswich.
