Friday 18 June
Returning in 2021, the Students on Track program is a Supercars educational initiative introduced to give students the chance to be part of one of the Territory’s largest sporting events. On Friday 18 June, selected Top End schools will be invited to attend the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown at Hidden Valley for FREE through the program (capped at 500 students). Gates open at 9:30am.
This is an incredible opportunity to see how the things students learn in class translate to life on and around the race track. See practical applications of maths, physical education, tourism, marketing, event management, media studies and engineering in action at a motorsport event.
The Students on Track program can be tied into regular lesson plans or can be used as a full-day excursion.
A total of 500 students will be invited to participate in both government and non-government schools.
Approximately 35 classes will be invited from Primary Schools (Years 5 & 6) and Middle Schools (Years 7 & 8).
Students are welcome to bring their own lunches to Hidden Valley. A variation of food stalls will also be operating throughout the day. Students are permitted to bring into the venue sealed bottled water, or bring their water bottle that can be refilled at one of the water refill stations within the venue.
