Three Epic Days of Supercars Racing in 2026

New three-day racing format unveiled for 2026 betr Darwin Triple Crown.

Fans will experience two Darwin firsts in 2026 as the betr Darwin Triple Crown expands to feature Supercars racing across all three days for the first time and adds a new racing support category to the program.

Taking place from 19–21 June at the iconic Hidden Valley Raceway, the 2026 event marks the 28th year of the Repco Supercars Championship in Darwin and will debut a bold new racing format featuring a 100km sprint race on Friday, followed by 200km races on Saturday and Sunday, delivering more on-track action for fans and heightened competition for drivers.

Supercars CEO James Wharton said the expanded format represents an exciting evolution for both competitors and spectators.

“Adding a Championship race to Friday gives fans three straight days of full-throttle entertainment, and it sets a higher benchmark for what it means to win the Triple Crown,” Wharton said.

“This new format means more racing for fans and a bigger challenge for drivers, which is exactly what makes this event so special.”

The refreshed format follows the success of 2025’s Super 440 structure, where Broc Feeney dominated all three races to become only the third driver to claim the coveted Darwin Triple Crown, and the first since Jamie Whincup in 2020. In 2026, the Triple Crown will again be awarded to the round champion based on the most points accumulated across the weekend, ensuring intense competition.

Adding to the milestone weekend, Hidden Valley will host Darwin’s first-ever Dunlop Super2 Series round. As the official development tier for emerging Supercars talent, the Super2 Series gives up-and-coming drivers a pathway to the main championship, with Darwin joining as the 17th venue on the calendar and the first new location since 2017.

Also new to the Darwin Triple Crown in 2026 is an updated format for the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship. Four of the seven championship rounds, including the Darwin event, will now adopt the international Carrera Cup structure, featuring two 45-minute races. These evolutionary updates to both the sporting and technical regulations will better align Carrera Cup Australia with leading global Carrera Cup competitions, while also improving long-term sustainability and value for competitors.

Delivered by the Northern Territory Government, the event showcases Darwin as a world-class motorsport destination and promises another unforgettable weekend of racing and entertainment in June 2026.
